I'm New. What Should I Expect?
First of all, welcome.
Whether you are in town visiting for the weekend or are looking for a church home, we are glad to have you join us for worship, fellowship, and any of our programming. As Pastor Cody shares at the beginning of the worship service each week, you are a beloved child of God. You belong in God's family, and you belong in our church family at Moran United Methodist Church.
We recognize that looking for a new church can be a challenge. We are glad you've found our website, and we hope you will come see us in person so we can introduce ourselves and our ministries.

Do you have questions for us?
We will do our best to answer some of the most common questions that new visitors tend to ask below. If you don't find an answer to your question, please contact us by email or phone.
If you have questions after you arrive on Sunday morning, you can ask one of our Bulletin Table Greeters (who hand out our bulletins at the entrance to the Sanctuary) or an Usher.
What time are your Sunday worship services?
Our Worship Service begins at 10:30am. This service has more liturgy and a more consistent order of worship. The music at this service includes both traditional hymns and contemporary songs -- and everything in between! We are also blessed to have occasional special music and Sign Choir offerings.
The service takes place in our Sanctuary, located at the west end of the building (after you enter the double doors off of the parking lot, it is located to your right). It will include scripture, prayers, and a message from Pastor Cody based on the Scripture passages for the day. As you enter the Sanctuary, you will receive a Worship Bulletin that will guide you through the service.
Holy Communion (also known as the Lord's Supper or the Eucharist) is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month, and in the United Methodist tradition, all are welcome to receive the gifts of bread and wine (we use unfermented grape juice), which we receive as an outward sign of God's grace at work within us.
Before worship, we invite you to join us for coffee and refreshments during our Coffee Time, which takes place from 10:00-10:20 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
Our Adult Sunday School class meets from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the Disciples/Shepherds Room at the east end of the building.
What about my kids?
We believe that children are an important and integral part of our church family. We love to have children of all ages worship with us, and your children are more than welcome to be with you during worship. If you would prefer to have your child in the nursery, nursery care is available for children through age 5.
Our Nursery is available for children age birth through 5 years. Our nursery staff and volunteers are professional, trained, and background checked, and they are ready to warmly welcome your children. In addition to fun toys to play with, a simple
Bible lesson is provided each week.
For children that remain in the Sanctuary for the worship service, we have activity bags available as you enter the Sanctuary with some supplies and activities (crayons, coloring pages, stuffed animals) to help keep them engaged during the service.
During the worship service, we have a short "Children's Moment" each week, when the children are invited to come forward for a short message (or story, activity, song) with Pastor Cody. Following the Children's Moment, elementary school age children are invited to attend Sunday School in the Carpenter's Room, which is located in the east end of the building (down the hall past the Gym). More information on our Nursery and Sunday School programming can be found here.
Baby changing tables can be found in the Single User/Family Restroom (next to the kitchen), the Women's Restroom, and in the Nursery.
What should I wear?
On a typical Sunday, you might see folks wearing dresses and ties, and others in shorts and flip flops – and everything in between! We want you to feel comfortable when you come to worship with us, so dress however you are comfortable. Seriously — we mean it! We truly want you to feel comfortable and welcome to worship just as you are.
Is your building accessible?
Our church building is fully wheelchair accessible. Accessible parking spaces can be found closest to the building entrances, and a push-button accessible entry door is located at the east end of the building. A greeter will also be ready to welcome you and provide any assistance that you might need at the main double doors, as well.
We have a hearing assistance system in our Sanctuary. Headphones are available as you enter the Sanctuary, which are connected directly to the sound system through a wireless receiver.
Large print and braille hymnals, large print bulletins, and sermon manuscripts are available by request. Please connect with one of the Ushers or Greeters if you have questions about accessibility.
