We are REALLY excited to be offering a Vacation Bible School program this summer! This year we will be offering this program to you in the comfort and safety of your home. Our curriculum theme is "Compassion Camp: Be Loved. Be Kind. Be You." Kids and families will explore what God tells us about having compassion for others, ourselves, and the world.
Our weekly program will begin on Monday, July 20th and extend for five weeks (one session per week), with the final week beginning on Monday, August 17th. The program will include at-home activities for your family to do together, along with videos starring by our church's volunteers and staff leading crafts, Bible lessons, and other activities.
How will this work?! We're glad you asked!
Each Friday, beginning July 17th, we will deliver all of the arts and craft supplies that you will need for the week to your door. This will include everything needed for all of the activities that we will be leading via video, and we will also include written instructions for those looking for less screen time or needing a reminder of how to do an activity. All of the crafts and activities are simple -- simple enough that busy parents and squirrelly kiddos shouldn't have any trouble.
Every Monday, we will go live with an "Opening Gathering" on Facebook Live, and all of the videos for that week's session will be made available at that time.
But don't worry! You don't have to do all of the activities on Monday; you can engage them throughout the week in whatever way works best for your family's schedule. Do you want to do one session every evening before dinner? Great! Do your kids do better with one session every morning after breakfast? Awesome! Want to hold off on the whole thing until a rainy day when your kids are really needing to be engaged? Fabulous! Don't have time for all of the activities this week, or is an activity not working well for your child? Feel free to move on to the next one. Aside from the live opening gathering on Mondays, your family is invited to engage in the activities on the schedule that fits your needs -- and even that opening gathering will be offered as a recording if you're not able to join us live.
We hope that Compassion Camp VBS will be a fun and engaging way for your family to grow together in your faith and love of God. Our hope that it will be a helpful and joyful tool for your family, and not a source of stress for your summer.
