Digital Ministries Assistant
Job Summary: The Digital Ministries Assistant is responsible for overseeing the church’s live streamed worship services to ensure the quality and consistency. This position also helps to support our website and social media outreach to build up our online presence and online-based ministries.
Reports To: Pastor for day-to-day operations; Staff/Pastor-Parish Relations Committee (SPPRC) for fulfilling responsibilities defined in the job description, defining goals, evaluation, and communication of concerns related to the performance of the position.
Directly Supervises: Volunteers
Status: Part-Time/Non-Exempt (5 hours/week)
Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Essential Duties
Support Weekly Live-Stream Worship Services
- Recruit, train, coordinate, and supervise volunteers to run the SwitcherStudio live-streaming software and devices during live-streamed church activities
- Attend and be available to troubleshoot live streamed Sunday worship services
- Interact with those who worship with us virtually during the worship services as possible, and follow up afterward

Support For Web-Based Ministries
- Expand Moran UMC’s social media ministry by identifying, understanding, and implementing techniques and technologies that will enhance and broaden our social media ministry outreach
- Identify, understand and implement techniques and technologies that will enhance and broaden our social media ministry outreach
- Manage the church’s website on the Weebly platform
- Identify, understand and implement techniques and technologies that will enhance our website visitors’ experience
- Update content as needed in cooperation with pastor, staff, and ministry team leaders
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technologically curious
- Ability to pass a national background check
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot live-streaming video apps and devices (iPad and iPhone)
- Knowledge of website design and publishing, or ability to learn
- Experience with social media, livestream, and website applications and/or ability to learn
- Understand and be able to champion the church’s purpose, vision, and journey, as well as the theology and traditions of the United Methodist Church, or willingness to learn
- Must be available on Sunday mornings; work schedule can otherwise be flexible
